Air quality related burn bans - Spokane Clean Air and the Washington State Department of Ecology may issue temporary restrictions on outdoor burning and indoor wood heating due to impaired air quality. If a ban is issued by our agencies for Spokane County, it will appear here and on the Burn Info Line at 477-4710.
Fire hazard burn restrictions - Fire Protection Agencies and local officials may temporarily restrict outdoor burning during fire hazard conditions. The restrictions are typically July-September. Spokane Clean Air will relay this information here as it is provided to us by local officials and DNR.
Outdoor Burn Bans/Restrictions - Outdoor burning in Spokane County may be allowed, depending on where you live and what you wish to burn, as long as a burn ban is not in effect (if a ban is in effect, we'll list it here.) Forest Management/silvicultural burning is allowed under DNR by rule burn or by conditions in your DNR permit. Burn barrels are prohibited throughout the state of Washington.
