Air quality related burn bans - Spokane Clean Air and the Washington State Department of Ecology may issue temporary restrictions on outdoor burning and indoor wood heating due to impaired air quality. If a ban is issued by our agencies for Spokane County, it will appear here and on the Burn Info Line at 477-4710.

Fire hazard burn restrictions - Fire Protection Agencies and local officials may temporarily restrict outdoor burning during fire hazard conditions. The restrictions are typically July-September. Spokane Clean Air will relay this information here as it is provided to us by local officials and DNR.

Outdoor Burn Bans/Restrictions -
Outdoor burning in Spokane County may be allowed, depending on where you live and what you wish to burn, as long as a burn ban is not in effect (if a ban is in effect, we'll list it here.) Forest Management/silvicultural burning is allowed under DNR by rule burn or by conditions in your DNR permit.  Burn barrels are prohibited throughout the state of Washington. Please note that some types of outdoor burning are never allowed in Spokane County, click here for more information.
